I believe clients are the experts on their own lives. I take a strength-based and person-centered approach to therapy, meaning that while I see myself as a consultant in peoples' journeys toward enhanced wellness, I work in a collaborative way that keeps the client's goals and priorities front and center.

As a psychotherapist in private practice from 2010 - 2016 in Toronto, Canada, I gained particular expertise for working with people who are braving new life transitions, healing from past and/or recent traumas, and with those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ communities.

During our time together, I will listen to your story, offer reflections, and ask questions in order to gain clarity and discover the deeper and richer meanings within your narrative. Together, we will work to understand your pain and to mutually identify your strengths, resources, and desired future.  I respect that this is your personal journey and I feel privileged to be a witness to your growth, self-discovery, and enhanced wellbeing.

I understand how systemic oppression (e.g. racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia) contributes to symptoms related to anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and substance dependency. I approach these issues by working with clients from within feminist, LGBTQ+-affirmative, and trauma-informed frameworks, which helps to facilitate the re-discovery of strengths and the courage to challenge oppression with empowerment, self-love, and confidence.
