My work brings together an LGBT affirmative psychoanalytic perspective, diversity/multicultural consciousness, classical mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, as well as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). I consider being gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual, queer or other self defined core identities as healthful expressions of one's life spirit, and often a life long process of exploration and growth.
My clinical practice has spanned over the past twenty years in which I have steadily served the LGBTQ community. During this period I have also worked at UCLA's Neuropsychiatric Institute (2003-2011). I have specialized in the treatment of psychological trauma from early childhood, societal dysfunction (e.g. racism and homo/trans/phobia), illness, and overwhelming life events.
Since 2010 I have served as core faculty at Antioch University, Los Angeles, where I direct the Spiritual and Depth Psychology Specialization, offering graduate training in integrative psychotherapy.
Please give me a call if you would like to discuss working together.
