Jess Hale

Jess Hale, M.A. is a clinical psychotherapy intern located in Los Angeles, California (IMF97885). Prior to receiving her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles, Jess graduated with her B.A. from UC Santa Barbara, with a concentration in Psychology and Women’s Studies. Throughout her time at Antioch and post-graduation, she specifically trained and specialized in LGBTQ Affirmative Psychotherapy.

Prior to starting her private practice internship under Eddie Hunt, MA, MFT, Jess worked with children, adolescents, individuals, couples, families and groups at the Antioch University Counseling Center and Colors LGBTQ Youth Counseling Center for approximately 2 years.  She is extremely passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community and has a great deal of experience with LGBTQ+ specific issues such as trauma, coming out, internalized homophobia, and relationships to self, others and the community.

Jess’s additional areas of therapeutic emphasis include anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, sex/sexuality, stress, grief, self-esteem and finding purpose.

Jess was formally trained psychodynamically, however tends to be relationally oriented and integrates other elements of modalities such as CBT, Feminist Psychology and Narrative Therapy. Jess believes when it comes to finding a therapist, it is crucial to find someone who truly makes you feel seen, understood and not alone. She concentrates on the relationship between client and therapist; while fostering a climate of collaboration, support and greater self-awareness. She infuses insight, a sense of humor and interventions tailored to each unique and specific individual’s needs. Jess strives to help clients understand and cease unhealthy patterns playing out in relationships, work or other areas of life.

Jess is currently accepting new clients and receives clinical supervision from Eddie Hunt, MA, MFT. Contact Jess by email at jesshaletherapy@gmail.com or by phone at (323) 457-4378.
