Dialogs With Life

Dialogs With Life

"A therapist is called to be reliable and compassionate, to help another reclaim their self-reliance and freedom from suffering."

I specialize working with clients (individuals, couples and families) who are working through a life changing loss in their life. Emotional and psychological pain is not caused by events but by how we react to them; the degree of pain we feel depends on how effective of our coping skills are. When we experience a loss our coping skills determine how we manage our grief. I help clients to regain balance in their lives by teaching them (1.) how to recognize when their reactions may be disproportionate to the event they are reacting to and (2.) tools to help them self regulate how they experience fear, anxiety, and emotions which may accompany their reactions. The ‘modality’ I practice is triune; (i) reflective listening, (ii) dialog, (iii) mindfulness based insight therapy. Through our work together in sessions and the work they do in between sessions, clients gradually reclaim self-reliance and authority over their own lives.

I provide time limited offsite therapy sessions to couples, families, and for those individuals confined to a hospital or intermediate and long term care facilities on a case-by-case basis as appropriate (additional fees may apply). In addition to my psychotherapy practice I run ongoing and time limited support groups.
